Happy May & Mother’s Day!
With May here and the tulips starting to bloom and the trees getting greener it reminds us of how lucky we are to live in Ottawa! Many of us are starting to get gardens ready, tune up bikes and prep our backyards for Summer barbecues.
The Ottawa real estate market is also showing signs of more momentum. Although unit sales were down year over year in April (11.2%), we did see sales increase from March (up 18.4%). The MLS® HPI composite benchmark price for Ottawa in April rose 1.1% to $631,200 when compared to April 2024. Homes that are well prepared and presented and priced to reflect market value are selling well.
It’s always wise to have a pulse on the market in your neighborhood and if your thinking of making a change, whether it be this year or next, to understand the value of your home and other housing options. If you would like an update on your neighborhood and comparable home sales, please feel free to contact us.
Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers and Caregivers! If you can, please support the Chrysalis House and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation in their efforts to fund women’s shelters and domestic violence prevention.
This month we’ve included:
- An Update on the Ottawa Real Estate market and Mortgage information: Uncertainty in Rates, Opportunity in Real Estate
- Articles: Home Insurance: Steps to Take When Purchasing a Home, The Pros and Cons of an In-ground vs Above-Ground Pool, What Records Do You Need When Selling Your Home
- Market news and community events to enjoy in our city, including the Canadian Tulip Festival and many Farmers’ Markets
As always feel free to call and email with any questions or to chat to catch up, we would love to hear from you.
