The Joan Smith Real Estate Family

Joan finds it very important to live a balanced life and to contribute to the community she has been a part of most of her life. As one of the original residents of Kanata and a mother of two girls, she became active in Brownies and was one of the leaders of the first Kanata Brownie Pack. She was also a member of the group that founded the first Kanata Bridge Club.

Joan’s family is very important to her. She makes it a point to have a family dinner one evening every week, without fail, with her daughters Kimberley and Victoria, son-in-law Luc, and grandchildren Jacqueline, Danielle and Sarah. Attending hockey games and spending time at her country home on the lake are activities that rejuvenate the always youthful and vibrant Joan Smith.

Consistent marketing approach

A native of Ottawa and Kanata, Victoria has seen and experienced Kanata’s growth in homes, businesses and services. A strong business and marketing background, combined with her personal approach complements the skills of the Joan Smith Real Estate Family 1. .

After completing a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queen’s in Kingston, Victoria joined the Price Waterhouse Management Consultants Ottawa office and performed a variety of market research and marketing strategy projects for private and public sector clients including economic development work for municipalities, and market research work for Industry Canada, Sport Canada, and Educational Institutions.

Victoria later went on to complete her Masters of Business Administration at Ottawa University and spent over 15 years in high technology marketing, presenting and interfacing with many customers and marketing technicians. Her work involved many facets of marketing including pricing, promotion, and channel and distribution plans.

Victoria’s consistent marketing approach places great importance on understanding customer’s needs and objectives while examining current market dynamics. Using her communication and marketing planning skills Victoria can develop and execute a customized home marketing or buying plan.

Growing up in a real estate family and now happily married to Luc and mother of three girls, Jacqueline, Danielle and Sarah, Victoria understands the significance of a home purchase or sale to a family and the factors to be considered. Schools, childcare, proximity to work, timing, etc. while optimizing budget, may all play a role in a home purchase or sale.

Bilingual Sales Representative

Born near Montréal, Luc is fluent in both English and French bringing a broader dimension of service to Joan Smiths Real Estate Family 1. .

With his warm, professional manner he immediately puts clients at ease, and his sincere desire to find them the best possible home shows in the extensive background work he completes for each home he sells.

Luc comes to the family from a related field. After completing a bachelor in Landscape Architecture at Université de Montréal, he worked for a major Ottawa landscape architectural firm for more than four years.

During that period, Luc broadened his knowledge of Kanata by working on the Open Space Master Plan for the Kanata Lakes area, and developing a Master Plan for Pinhey’s Point for the former City of Kanata.

Later, while working for the federal government, Luc was responsible for the implementation of several projects on the grounds of Parliament Hill, and other major renovation projects to federal buildings in Ottawa. Luc’s background in the field of Landscape Architecture is of great value in assessing properties potential for his buyers.

After almost 17 years in both the private and public sectors, Luc had the opportunity to expand his horizons and joined Joan Smith, his mother in law, in real estate.

Luc is happily married to Victoria, and together, they are enjoying every minute with their three wonderful daughters Jacqueline, Danielle, and Sarah. They have been living in Kanata since 1992 and have grown to love and appreciate its flowing green spaces, natural areas, the wide variety of home styles, and friendly community personality. As a father with young children, Luc has a keen appreciation of the importance of the services offered in the community: access to good schools, sporting activities, green space, transportation services and municipal organization.

As a sales representative who is bilingual, it will be Luc’s goal to make buying or selling your home a pleasurable and successful experience.

Our Friendly Office Administrator

We are proud to have Megan as our office administrator. She was raised in Kanata and is very knowledgeable of the community. She has always wanted to pursue a career in the service industry and quickly gained a passion for real estate after beginning her journey with Royal LePage Team Realty in 2017.

Megan is currently completing courses to obtain her real estate license. Her calm demeanor, attention to detail and positive outlook allow her to offer our clients with the best service. Her personal interactions with our clients have proven to be very helpful and they always are quick to say thank you. Megan is excited to continue offering and enhancing our real estate services.
