Nepean

Located just south-west of central Ottawa, Nepean was established in 1972. Originally an independent city, Nepean amalgamated to become a part of the new City of Ottawa in 2001. The town is known for its variety of communities and proximity to the center of the City, with easy access to the downtown core via the 417. With a population of approximately 180,000 people, Nepean includes many wonderful neighbourhoods. To name a few: Bells Corners, Arlington Woods, Centrepointe, Crystal Beach, Craig Henry, Fallowfield, Meadowlands, Merivale Gardens, Pine Glen & Qualicum.

There are a variety of educational programs offered through many elementary and secondary schools in the public, Catholic, and French school boards.  The headquarters of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) and the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) are located within Nepean. The main campus of the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology is located in Nepean.  Algonquin College was established in 1967 and now provides over 320 college programs to over 18,000 students.

Merivale Road, Hunt Club Road, Baseline Road, Carling Avenue offer a variety of shopping, including larger big box stores, specialty shops, Costco, etc. The Bayshore shopping centre offers 190 stores and College Square provides over 45 stores for shopping enthusiasts. Nepean has a diverse mix of small businesses as well industrial and auto parks, federal offices including the Department of National Defence on Moodie Drive.
