Happy April & Easter!
April and Spring, although it took a little longer, have arrived! The time of year to dust things off, get outside and revisit plans and goals for the rest of the year.
Despite the economic news south of the border, the Ottawa real estate market remains relatively stable, sales in Ottawa were a little lower in March than in March 2024. The MLS® HPI composite benchmark price for Ottawa in March rose 2.2% to $626,200 when compared to March 2024. It is still important to look at each neighborhood and type of home to get a better view of the market.
Keep in mind that everyone needs a place to live and hopefully there will be changes to encourage more housing projects and assist others. The removal of the GST for new buyers and the stress test for mortgage qualification would be a positive change. Just a reminder to everyone, looking for the perfect home is difficult, it may be easier to have one and grow with the market. I also encourage sellers to follow their plan, if you want to move in 2025, continue to prepare your home for market and review your finances. We are happy to prepare a market evaluation for you and answer your questions.
We celebrate Earth month and Earth Day on April 22nd and continue to support Forests Canada. With the sale and purchase of every home that we assist with, we make a donation to this organization on our clients’ behalf.
This month we’ve included:
- An Update on the Ottawa Real Estate market and Mortgage information to review if your thinking of making a change in the next 6 months
- Articles: Your Outdoor Spring Cleaning Checklist, Where to Start When Buying a Home in Today’s Market, How to Stop Scammers from Selling Your Home
- Market news and community events to enjoy in our city, including the commencement of festivals in Ottawa
As we start to head outdoors more, feel free to contact us if you need some professional contacts for assistance, i.e. painters, handyman, landscapers, and for those doing some Spring cleaning, please contact us if you would like a $50 off voucher for 1-800-Got-Junk.
As always feel free to call and email with any questions or to chat to catch up, we would love to hear from you.
