Your Outdoor Spring Cleaning Checklist

April - Outdoor Spring Cleaning Checklist

Spring cleaning isn’t just for inside the house, take it outside and get some fresh air! Cleaning up the outside of your home and getting ready for Spring can get you motivated to spend more time outdoors, set some goals for outdoor projects and help you get ready to plant and grow your favourite herbs, vegetables and flowers.

Below are some tips and tricks to help you make the most of your outdoor Spring cleaning.

  • Clean/wash your windows, front door and trim. Don’t forgot to wash door mats too.
  • Sweep your porch, walkway, patio and deck.
  • Put out and wipe off outdoor furniture.
  • Bring out the barbecue if you haven’t already and clean the grill.
  • Wipe off outdoor lights and replace light bulbs if needed.
  • Wash the dirt off of your garage door and tidy up. Great time to see what you want to give away or sell.
  • Clean off driveway. Check to see if it should be sealed, patched or repaved.
  • Clean up garden beds to be ready for planting.
  • If you haven’t done it yet, take down Christmas lights and decorations.
  • Check for foundation cracks and settling around the house.
  • Check the caulking around windows and doors.
  • Check the eavestrough, clean out if needed and put on downspout extenders.
  • Check the roof for any missing shingles and flashing needing repairs.
