April 9, 2013
Dear Mrs. Smith,
Please accept our sincere gratitude for donating a prize for the silent and live auctions of the 9th Annual Carefor Chocolate Brunch& Competition held on March 2, 2013.
The event has been a signature fundraiser for Carefor since 2004 when we hosted the first ever competition. Bath then, we had four competitors and fifty attendees. This year, we are proud to report that the event sold our for the fourth consecutive year.
The four hundred attendees and six celebrity judges sampled eleven mouth-watering chocolate desserts and voted to determine who makes the Best Chocolate Dessert in the National Capital Region. This year, Essence Catering took home the Judge’s Choice Award and Top of the Hill Bakery won the People’s Choice Award. We are pleased that the event was well covered in social media with the help of our staff, volunteers, celebrity judges and attendees.
Thanks to your generosity, we raised $32,000 to support the charitable work of Carefor. The auctions alone yielded $9,096 (over 52% of the retail value of the donated items). We understand you have many choices of charities to champion in Ottawa, and we are very grateful that you choose to be involved with Carefor.
Once again thank you for your support of Carefor Heath & Community Services, a charity that has been delivering local community support and home health care services since 1897. Your generous support helps us help others and we are very proud to have you as a partner!
Sincerely,
Bob Cerniuk Donna Deknatel
