03 Jul The Flora Footbridge is officially open!

There is now a new way to walk or bike across the Rideau Canal! Thanks to the fantastic work of the City staff, the Flora Footbridge has opened ahead of schedule. this crossing connects Clegg Street in Old Ottawa East to Fifth Avenue at Queen Elizabeth Drive in the Glebe. This will make it easier for everyone to get out and enjoy the summer in Ottawa.

This footbridge provides for a safe cycling and walking path between neighborhoods, will shorten commute times and offer a dedicated active and sustainable transportation route to schools, work, entertainment and shopping. It will also provide an important link to pathways connecting to the City’s O-Train Confederation Line at Hurdman and Lees Transit Stations and support the City’s goals of healthy, sustainable commuting by promoting walking, cycling and transit.
