Campeau Drive extension is underway to connect communities in Kanata North

On Friday January 31st, members of the community, Mayor Jim Watson, Kanata North Ward Councillor Jenna Sudds and Jeff Leiper, Acting Chair of the Transportation Committee celebrated the groundbreaking of the Campeau Drive extension that will join Campeau Drive from Didsbury Rd to Country Glen Way in Arcadia.

Kanata is continuously growing and this project will provide a much needed link for the community. This is the last phase of the $32 million project, and it includes a 4-lane road, bicycling lanes, sidewalks, a roundabout at Winterset Rd and a bridge over the Carp River. The project is expected to be finished in Fall 2021.

It will provide a convenient way for residents in surrounding neighbourhoods to get to nearby shops and amenities, streamline local traffic patterns and alleviate congestion for commuters” – May Jim Watson, City of Ottawa.
